Glaucoma

This will involve measuring your fields of vision, eye pressures, corneal thickness and analysis of your optic nerve head and anterior chamber depth.

Glaucoma is commonly a silent condition which is not reversible and it is important that it be diagnosed before you are aware of visual loss.

​

It is usually managed with eye drops which limit further damage.

​

Please be aware that the use of certain medications such as steroids, atropine-based heart tablets and some anti-depressants can increase your risk of having glaucoma and your doctor should be advised of your family history.
