Glaucoma

This will involve measuring your fields of vision, eye pressures, corneal thickness and analysis of your optic nerve head and anterior chamber depth.

Glaucoma is commonly a silent condition which is not reversible and it is important that it be diagnosed before you are aware of visual loss.

It is usually managed with eye drops which limit further damage.

Please be aware that the use of certain medications such as steroids, atropine-based heart tablets and some anti-depressants can increase your risk of having glaucoma and your doctor should be advised of your family history.
